LevelBlue to Acquire XDR Provider Cybereason
Acquired by AT&T CyberSecurity
Published 5 September 2026
WHAT HAPPENED
LevelBlue announced plans to acquire Cybereason, an extended detection and response platform provider. The deal combines Cybereason's XDR and digital forensics capabilities with LevelBlue's managed detection and response and incident response services.
WHO IS INVOLVED
LevelBlue, a managed security service provider spun out of AT&T last year, is acquiring Cybereason. LevelBlue CEO Bob McCullen leads the company, which recently acquired TrustWave and Stroz Friedberg's risk assessment business from Aon.
WHY IT MATTERS
The acquisition expands LevelBlue's offensive and defensive security capabilities, including penetration testing, risk assessment, and threat detection. It allows LevelBlue to integrate Cybereason's AI-based detection platform with TrustWave's cloud-native security operations platform to offer customers broader managed services.
