Depthfirst, an applied AI lab focused on securing software systems, announced an $80 million Series B funding round at a $580 million post-money valuation. The round was led by Meritech Capital. This follows a $40 million Series A round announced two months prior. The company, founded in 2024 by Andrea Michi (ex-Google DeepMind), Daniele Perito (ex-Block cybersecurity chief), and a third cofounder, is launching its first in-house AI model (dfs-mini1) for detecting vulnerabilities in crypto smart contracts.
