Acquired by TIBCO
Published 5 September 2026
WHAT HAPPENED
Citrix completed its acquisition of Numecent, a specialist in enterprise application delivery and container management. The deal brings Numecent's Cloudpaging and Cloudpager products into Citrix's platform to expand Desktop as a Service capabilities for Windows application delivery.
WHO IS INVOLVED
Citrix, the cloud software company, acquired Numecent and its CEO Arthur Hitomi. Shawn Bass, senior vice president and general manager of Citrix DaaS, led the integration effort. Financial terms were not disclosed.
WHY IT MATTERS
The acquisition reduces complexity in Windows application management by packaging applications into isolated containers that stream on demand without traditional installation or image changes. IT teams gain tools to lower desktop management costs, reduce application conflicts, accelerate updates, and recover faster from ransomware attacks.
