Published 29 August 2026
WHAT HAPPENED
Dataminr launched First Alert Advanced, a new real-time intelligence product powered by agentic AI that provides corroboration, context, and predictive intelligence on unfolding global events. The company simultaneously secured a five-year, $318 million contract with the U.S. Department of War to provide real-time alerting across the entire military enterprise through 2031.
WHO IS INVOLVED
Dataminr developed the product and won the contract. The Department of War will deploy First Alert Advanced across the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Space Force, and all unified combatant commands. Pre-launch customers already include NATO and nine international militaries, and the product is used by militaries across 18 nations and over 100 U.S. government organizations.
WHY IT MATTERS
Real-time intelligence on global events is critical for military decision-making and force protection. The $318 million contract establishes Dataminr as the intelligence provider for the entire U.S. military, while First Alert Advanced's autonomous capabilities—including agentic corroboration, continuous context updates, and tactical prediction—represent a significant advancement in defense technology.
