Eye Security Releases php2shell Checker Browser Extension for Chrome & Edge

WHAT HAPPENED
Eye Security released php2shell Checker, a browser extension for Chrome and Edge that detects PHP versions vulnerable to the php2shell vulnerability. The extension was approved by Google and is available free in the Chrome Web Store.
WHO IS INVOLVED
Eye Security developed the extension with team members including Piet Kerkhofs and Vaisha Bernard, who built an unauthenticated RCE exploit for php2shell.
WHY IT MATTERS
The extension provides IT teams a privacy-friendly, read-only way to check website PHP versions without downloading scripts or using third-party websites. Eye Security also published forensic research on php2shell that details traces, logs, and indicators defenders can use to identify compromise.
