WHAT HAPPENED
Lasso Security, a Tel Aviv-based AI security company, partnered with NEWORDER, a Pretoria-based managed cybersecurity firm, to offer continuous adversarial testing of AI agents in South Africa. The platform identifies AI agents running in an organization's systems, inspects instructions before agents act on them, and flags unusual behavior patterns.
WHO IS INVOLVED
Lasso Security, founded in 2023 and certified to ISO 27001 and SOC 2, is partnering with NEWORDER as its official South African reseller. Elad Schulman is chief executive and co-founder of Lasso Security, and Bennie Barnard is chief commercial officer at NEWORDER.
WHY IT MATTERS
South African organizations have deployed AI agents without knowing who controls them or what they can access, creating a security risk comparable to giving a junior employee with full system access no training or oversight. Four existing regulatory frameworks—King V, Joint Standard 2, Popia, and the Cybercrimes Act—already require organizations to demonstrate control and testing of these systems, and insurance carriers are beginning to price AI risk explicitly rather than covering it by default.
