Pillar Security Contributes to OWASP Agent Control Standard (ACS) as Part of GenAI Security Project
Published 10 September 2026
WHAT HAPPENED
Pillar Security contributed to the Agent Control Standard (ACS), which is now part of the OWASP Foundation GenAI Security Project. Ariel Fogel from Pillar co-leads the Specification workstream for this open, vendor-neutral standard that provides runtime control of AI agents.
WHO IS INVOLVED
Pillar Security and the OWASP Foundation are leading the effort, with Ariel Fogel as a co-lead of the Specification workstream. Multiple industry contributors are participating in shaping the standard.
WHY IT MATTERS
As AI agents become more capable and interact with external tools and systems, an open standard for runtime control is needed instead of fragmented vendor-specific implementations. The ACS standard enables developers and security teams to enforce policies and maintain visibility into agent behavior across different frameworks and tools.
