Portugal's Armed Forces Strengthens National Cyberdefense with Ethiack and BlackRoute Partnership
Published 14 September 2026
WHAT HAPPENED
Ethiack and BlackRoute delivered the Digital Sentinel and AI Ethical Hacking projects to Portugal's Armed Forces Cyberdefense Operations Command for 920,000 euros, funded by Portugal's Recovery and Resilience Plan. The solutions went live across all three military branches on August 31 after validation by Portugal's ARTE agency and the European Commission.
WHO IS INVOLVED
Ethiack and BlackRoute partnered on the project for Portugal's Armed Forces, supported by The Rock, a Portuguese cybersecurity ecosystem. The AI Ethical Hacking technology builds on autonomous pentesting tech from Hackian.
WHY IT MATTERS
The AI-driven security testing automates vulnerability validation across segregated military networks, allowing human operators to identify exploitable weaknesses before attackers can exploit them. This represents European sovereign offensive security protecting critical national infrastructure at scale.
