CrowdStrike to Acquire Dreadnode to Advance AI Trust and Deliver Automated AI Security Testing for the Agentic Enterprise
Published 3 November 2026
WHAT HAPPENED
CrowdStrike signed a definitive agreement to acquire Dreadnode, a company specializing in automated AI security testing. The acquisition was announced at Fal.Con Europe 2026. Dreadnode will join CrowdStrike's Cyber Superintelligence Lab and extend the Falcon platform with automated testing capabilities for AI models, applications, and agents.
WHAT THE ACQUIRED COMPANY DOES
Dreadnode runs over 100 known AI attack strategies against enterprise AI systems, including jailbreaks, prompt injection, and agent-specific attacks. The company ranks findings by severity, maps them to OWASP and MITRE frameworks, scans AI models and repositories for vulnerabilities, and provides human-in-the-loop review capabilities. Dreadnode's findings will feed into CrowdStrike's Falcon Guardian for runtime protection and strengthen SafeMind models.
THE DEAL
The purchase price will be paid predominantly in cash with a portion delivered in stock subject to vesting conditions. CrowdStrike expects the acquisition to close in its fourth quarter of FY27, subject to customary closing conditions.
WHY IT MATTERS
Enterprises deploy AI faster than they can secure it, and conventional security testing fails to catch AI-specific vulnerabilities like jailbreaks and prompt injection that exist in model reasoning loops. Automated AI Security Testing will be generally available in Q4 FY27, giving enterprises the ability to find and fix weaknesses before deployment. This acquisition extends CrowdStrike's leadership in AI Detection and Response and strengthens its research into securing AI systems.
CUSTOMER IMPACT
With Dreadnode integrated into Falcon, enterprises can describe what to test in plain language and receive exportable reports mapping findings to security frameworks like OWASP Top 10 for LLMs and MITRE ATLAS. Testing data will improve CrowdStrike's SafeMind AI models and feed policy recommendations to Falcon Guardian for stronger runtime protection of deployed AI systems.
