WHAT HAPPENED
Palo Alto Networks launched Unit 42 Continuous Frontier AI Defense, an always-on service that uses proprietary multi-model AI harnesses powered by Anthropic's Mythos models and OpenAI's GPT cyber models to discover, validate, and remediate vulnerabilities across applications, identities, cloud infrastructure, and network assets.
WHO IS INVOLVED
Palo Alto Networks' Unit 42 offensive security team built and tested the service internally and across more than 100 customer engagements, partnering with Anthropic and OpenAI for frontier AI models.
WHY IT MATTERS
Organizations face accelerating threats as attackers use agentic AI to exploit vulnerabilities in under 10 hours instead of weeks, and weaponize new CVEs within 15 minutes. Unit 42's multi-model approach addresses the finding that no single AI model catches more than 40% of vulnerabilities, achieving over a year's worth of traditional penetration testing results in three weeks during internal testing.
