WHAT HAPPENED
ShorePoint, a federal cybersecurity company, acquired Coalfire Federal, the public sector subsidiary of Coalfire Systems. The acquisition was backed by CM Equity Partners, which closed its growth capital investment in ShorePoint during fall 2025. TideLock Partners served as financial adviser to Coalfire Federal.
WHAT THE ACQUIRED COMPANY DOES
Coalfire Federal concentrates on risk management and compliance work for federal agencies. The company also supports cybersecurity strategy, privacy, cloud computing and assurance efforts. Coalfire Federal recorded approximately 8.4 million dollars in unclassified prime contract obligations over the trailing 12 months, with the Health and Human Services Department representing 57 percent of revenue and the Interior Department accounting for 34 percent.
THE DEAL
ShorePoint is acquiring the Coalfire Federal contracts portfolio to grow its engineering, automation and assessment offerings for agencies. The deal was valued at approximately 8.4 million dollars in trailing 12-month contract obligations, though ShorePoint did not disclose a purchase price.
WHY IT MATTERS
The acquisition expands ShorePoint's federal cybersecurity capabilities and diversifies its customer base within government. By adding Coalfire Federal's established relationships with Health and Human Services and Interior Department, ShorePoint strengthens its position as a provider of compliance and risk management services to federal agencies. The move positions ShorePoint to capture additional opportunities in the federal cybersecurity market.
