WHAT HAPPENED
StrongestLayer launched two new products: Intent Workflows and AI Instruction Intercept. Intent Workflows detects and stops vendor email compromise attacks before they reach users, and can hold suspicious emails until a named person verifies them. AI Instruction Intercept quarantines emails containing hidden instructions aimed at AI assistants like Copilot and Gemini, preventing the AI from executing those commands.
WHO IS INVOLVED
StrongestLayer built and released both products. The tools integrate with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace through Microsoft Graph or the Google Workspace API.
HOW IT WORKS
Intent Workflows analyzes what an email is trying to accomplish and who it targets, stopping compromised vendor emails before delivery. Teams set custom responses for high-risk scenarios: alerts, banners with company policy, routing to specific owners, or holds requiring verification from a named person. Every hold records who approved it, when, and why. AI Instruction Intercept scans incoming emails for hidden instructions written for AI assistants rather than humans, quarantines those messages, and explains in plain language what commands the email attempted to inject. Both products work without requiring MX record changes.
WHY IT MATTERS
Vendor email compromise and business email compromise attacks continue targeting organizations, often tricking employees into wire transfers or credential changes. AI assistants now reading corporate email create a new attack surface where hidden instructions can bypass human judgment. These products address both threats by giving security teams control over suspicious emails and visibility into AI-targeting attacks before the AI processes the commands.
THE DEAL
Both products are available immediately for existing Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace customers at no stated additional cost.
