Surf AI Launches Surf Assistant, an AI-Powered Security Assistant for Exposure Management
Published 26 October 2026
WHAT HAPPENED
Surf AI launched Surf Assistant, an AI-powered security assistant designed for security teams managing exposures. The product became available following similar consumer-focused AI assistant launches from Meta, Anthropic, and OpenAI during the fall season.
WHO IS INVOLVED
Surf AI built and launched Surf Assistant. The product targets security teams working through their exposures and managing security posture across their organizations.
HOW IT WORKS
Surf Assistant answers natural language queries about security issues by drawing from Surf AI's Context Graph, which maps identities, assets, apps, and owners. Users can ask the assistant to show insights with critical priority, filter exploitable CVEs, or identify certificates expiring in the next seven days. When ready to act, the assistant offers to help build workflows or goals, which teams must approve before execution.
WHY IT MATTERS
Security teams face overwhelming numbers of exposures and vulnerabilities requiring triage and action. An AI assistant that understands security context and can filter and prioritize threats helps teams respond faster to the most critical risks without requiring manual analysis or administrative overhead for every task.
THE PRODUCT
Surf Assistant is an AI-powered security assistant built on Surf AI's Context Graph technology. It handles exposure management tasks including filtering vulnerabilities, identifying certificate expiration risks, and orchestrating remediation workflows through natural language conversation.
