WHAT HAPPENED
GitGuardian announced an integration with Wiz that enables daily synchronization of secret incidents discovered by GitGuardian across GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, and Microsoft Azure DevOps. The integration sends open secret incidents to Wiz as native secret findings, allowing the two platforms to work together on credential security.
WHO IS INVOLVED
GitGuardian and Wiz partnered on this integration. GitGuardian detects and manages secrets leaks, while Wiz provides cloud security solutions. The two companies aim to combine their expertise to improve how organizations handle credential protection.
HOW IT WORKS
GitGuardian sends secret incidents to Wiz once daily with full context including repository, file, commit, detector type, validity status, and severity level. Each finding includes a link back to the incident in GitGuardian. The actual secret value never leaves GitGuardian's platform—Wiz only receives a hash and metadata for security purposes.
WHY IT MATTERS
The integration lets organizations centralize their secret detection and cloud security monitoring in a single workflow. By keeping the actual secret values private while sharing intelligence about incidents, the partnership improves security without exposing sensitive credentials across systems. This allows teams to respond to secret incidents faster within their existing cloud security tools.
