Recorded Future Launches MCP, the Intelligence Layer for Agentic Security Operations
Acquired by Mastercard
Published 28 September 2026
WHAT HAPPENED
Recorded Future announced general availability of Recorded Future Model Context Protocol (MCP), which connects AI agents and large language models directly to Recorded Future's Intelligence Graph. The MCP includes over 80 tools that expose threat intelligence capabilities including threat actor profiles, risk scores, malware data, and dark web intelligence, with write access to Watch Lists and Analyst Notes.
WHO IS INVOLVED
Recorded Future developed the MCP for use with AI agents across platforms including Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor, and Gemini CLI. More than 100 of Recorded Future's enterprise customers participated in a year-long pilot program that shaped the product's evolution.
WHY IT MATTERS
Security teams are increasingly using AI agents to respond to threats at machine speed, but agents make unreliable decisions without trusted intelligence sources. Recorded Future MCP enables agents to access verified threat intelligence directly, reducing manual research time and helping security teams automate enrichment, reporting, and incident response without slowing down response times.
