WHAT HAPPENED
Upwind raised $450 million in a Series C funding round on October 28, 2026. The round will fuel product and engineering growth for the cloud and artificial intelligence security platform.
WHAT THE COMPANY DOES
Upwind builds security tools for cloud and AI environments. The company offers AI sensors for endpoints, agents and skills scanners, and maintains an inventory graph that tracks assets from endpoint to code to cloud. Upwind created three categories of AI agents: Blue investigates log sources to build attack stories, Red verifies exposure and attack surface, and Green identifies pressure points that can remediate thousands of security findings.
WHAT THE MONEY IS FOR
Upwind will use the funding to strengthen product and engineering capabilities. The company also launched AI Labs for Cybersecurity to develop solutions for current security problems and future industry needs.
WHY IT MATTERS
Security has become fundamentally tied to cloud and AI environments, and enterprises deploy AI widely across their operations. Upwind's focus on building AI sensors and using AI to detect AI-based attacks positions the company to address how organizations must now defend systems that span from endpoints through code to cloud infrastructure, rather than following traditional code-to-cloud models.
How it compares
Larger than 99% of the 70 Series C rounds on the Mandos record since 2023.
